used in ancient Greece
as a medicine in

rushes, traumas, dermatitis, ear
infections and stomatitis. What is more it was used in cosmetics. Later, the beeswax was utilized by the Greek Orthodox
Monks in making candles and therapeutic creams and balsams. Especially, the
Greek Monasteries in Mount Athos, have developed recipes using beeswax, olive
oil and herbs such is incense or thymes and propolis in order to make herbal,
biological, organic creams.
